Green Carnation on Roadburn 2016
We are very pleased to announce Norwegian progressive metal innovators Green Carnation will be journeying to Tilburg, the Netherlands where they will perform their classic 2001 album ‘Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness’ in its entirety at Roadburn 2016 at the 013 venue on Sunday, April 17.
With a versatile sound that is often impossible to categorize, guitarist and band leader Terje “Tchort” Schei has guided listeners through such musical landscapes as gothic metal, doom metal, death metal, and progressive rock over the course of six studio albums. A perfect example of Green Carnation’s range is ‘Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness’, a single 60-minute suite inspired by the death of Tchort’s daughter and the birth of his son that runs the gamut of not only styles but emotions.
“The people involved in this are all buzzing. ‘Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness’ is a very special album in many different ways for so many people, and we are looking forward to start rehearsing this beast live,” Tchort has said in a public statement.
Dynamic, cathartic, and reaching a sublime moment of redemption, ‘Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness’ is a much-loved piece of work among metal fans and the celebration of the album’s 15th anniversary is sure to be a highlight of the Roadburn 2016 weekend.
Also featuring headliners Neurosis and Paradise Lost (performing Gothic in its entirety), and guest curator Lee Dorrian of Cathedral and Rise Above Records, the 2016 edition of Roadburn festival will be held at the 013 venue in Tilburg, the Netherlands, from April 14 to 17, 2016.
